New Engine Alignment Tool that can be used on most stern drives to align the drive to the engine during installation.
Engine Alignment Tool compatible with MerCruiser Sterndrives including Pre- Alpha, Alpha 1 Gen 2, MR, R, all Bravos, compatible with Volvo SX and OMC Cobra Drives.
This Tool will correctly align all OMC Cobra and Mercruiser Outdrives with the exception of the Mercruiser TR and TRS Outdrive Models.
Interchange Part Numbers:
Compatible with MerCruiser - P/N 91-805475A1 & 91-57797A3.
Compatible with Volvo SX - P/N 3851083.
Compatible with OMC Cobra - P/N 18-4442.
Tool is made from high quality 1045 Steel. The length of the bar is approximately 23-5/8 inch.

This tool is professionally made in the United States on the state of the art CNC equipment with 100% quality inspection.
Tool Specs: According to MerCruiser service bulletin No 92-9, the alignment tool must have the following sizes from front to back: 1.010" diameter, 2.200" long (section that fits into coupler), 1.150" diameter. 2.750" long, and 1.375" diameter rest of the bar (section that fits gimbal bearing inside diameter). We test all of our tools for this fit at the shop, using precision gauges and measuring tools.

Outdrive coupler alignment tool
Works fine as described with instructions. Price was good shipping fast ordered Thursday morning had it Monday.

Worked good.
I recently had my bellows fail and wiped out my gimbal bearing. My boat is a 2005 reinell v6 with the Volvo penta outdrive. Tool was machined very well. I didn’t check tolerances before old trashed bearing was removed but, after new install I raised/lowered my motor mounts to several spots while checking the “spin” of the tool. Ended up exactly where I started. Are 15 years my engine was still aligned. Cheap insurance. And great tool to have around. Wish it came with a bearing driver attachment is all.

Very useful tool, but watch videos to use correctly
I bought this tool to check out my engine/outdrive alignment. You need to review MBS videos that show how to use tool. Also, there is useful video on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGQ0d111dLw. I had a problem with engine turning over very slow when starting. I could get the tool inserted with a little effort. I adjusted front engine mount up 4 flats (or sides of nut), tool felt stiffer. I adjusted back to original, then down 6 flats and tool was very easy to turn with 2 fingers. Installed Volvo Penta SX-A outdrive and engine spins faster and starts much quicker. I did not think moving the mounts 6 flats would make that much difference, but it did. Also, MBS shipping was very quick. When I replace gimbal bearing, I'm calling MBS for removal/install tools.
